Perfection Embodies Mind
“Have no fear of perfection, you’ll never reach it.” –
Salvador Dali
She reaches for the next tree branch, doing only what her
friends dared her to do to impress them. She was terrified, she hated heights,
but she wanted to fit in. She wanted to be like the cool kids and be fearless.
She made her feet move, the soles of her shoes gripping the branches beneath
her. Her hands hurt, surely there would be blisters on them later but it
wouldn’t matter if her friends thought she was cool. Her friends encouraged
her, telling her to go higher and higher which only gave her more energy and
confidence. She stepped onto the next branch but she heard a crack, and
suddenly, she was falling and falling till she hit the ground with a thud. It
hurt and she wanted to cry. Had it been worth it?
Very short yet powerful story. Love the quote at the beginning and how the story demonstrates it.
